'It is us who sees you die’ is an installation existing out of two dot matrix printers that loop paper through both of them, creating a conversation between the two character-like printers. The installation focuses on the opportunities these printers create, if you look closely you can see the design being created dot by dot as they perform. The tension builds up during the performance as both printers need to work together in order for the performance to work.
In my design practice, I’m always interested in more sustainable options. Why always try and buy something newly produced when the old is also interesting? The dot matrix printers are not only my printers but also my fellow designers, as old machines tend to have their own character.
